The Community Foundation of West Texas, Plainview Area Endowment award grants
The Plainview Area Endowment, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of West Texas, awarded grants to a few Plainview businesses earlier this month.
Grant recipients included YMCA Plainview, The Salvation Army, Covenant Health Plainview and the City of Plainview’s Trussell Pond project.
The endowment has given 110 grants and scholarships totaling $134,449.56 to area schools and non-profits to date, according to a news release from the organization. This year alone, the organization will give $23,466 in grants.
The Community Foundation of West Texas also gave mini grants to several local teachers with Plainview Christian Academy.
The total amount given through the program was $28,000 broken into 37 grants awarded to educators across the South Plains. Of that amount, $1,935 went to Plainview-area teachers.

Valerie Moore – “Math: It’s Just A Game”
Ann Helton – “Compare/Contrast WWII Nonfiction Literature”
Karen Earhart – “Chemistry Visuals.”
